DiscoverIPO

Deal Status

Where an offering currently stands in its lifecycle — commonly Filed, Expected, Priced, or Withdrawn. A registration statement never states whether a deal has actually priced; DiscoverIPO infers a Priced status from a company's final prospectus (SEC Rule 424(b)(4)), which is only filed once the offering has priced.

Why it matters

Deal status resolves the single most common confusion in IPO research: whether an offering has actually happened yet. A company can show up in search results and news coverage for months while still sitting at 'Filed' — checking deal status directly, rather than assuming a filing means a deal is imminent, is the only reliable way to know if shares are actually trading yet.
